Search for Research

Community Research is New Zealand’s principle hub for papers, articles, reports, reviews, evaluations, templates, powerpoints, and stories about the Tangata Whenua, Community and Voluntary Sector in New Zealand.

How to search

There are two simple ways to search for research and other resources. Both are on the right hand side of every webpage!

Find research by keyword

You can search for research by subject, author name, title or any other text that may be part of the information that is associated with a resource on this website. Simply type in your keyword or selection of keywords and click the magnifying glass (or just hit the Enter / Return key on your keyboard).

The results will appear as a list of excerpts. You can click onto the headings of any excerpt to see the full results.

Find research by categories

There are over 40 categories associated with the research and resources on this website. Simply select one from the drop down list.

The results will appear as a list of excerpts. You can click onto the headings of any excerpt to see the full results.

What about macrons

Some Maori words have macrons. There is no easy way to search for text that has macrons because researchers do not use a single standard. Some prefer to use a macron, some prefer none, and some combine the two.

Simply, type in a keyword without the macron, and then do another search with a macron to ensure you have covered all possibilities. What if I can’t open the file?

Almost all of the research files on this website are in PDF format. This protects you and us from hidden malicious programs that can be attached to Word documents or other files. Older computers with older software may have trouble opening these files. However, you can solve the issue by clicking here and downloading free software that will enable you to open PDF files.

Copyright and intellectual property
